THE BIG FIRE FESTIVAL

The BIG FIRE FESTIVAL celebrates community.
The Big Fire Festival is an event that transpires a few times every year at different locations. It aims to celebrate community. We gather around the fire and share our stories, thoughts and ideas. Spontaneous happenings in the form of music, song, dance movement, art, fire poi and poetry readings are encouraged.
At the Big Fire Festival everyone is considered to be equal to everyone else.

Participants are also encouraged to display and share whatever they feel like contributing, be it a skill, art performance, food, drink or whatever. Feel free to put up a stall, art installation or stretch a canvas for a communal painting session. Bring instruments for jamming. Dress up and express your authentic self if you wish. Have fun!

Other spaces will also be developed. The next event we will have a dance floor where DJ OTO MATIEK will be playing tunes all night long. (Sound to be supplied by Bush Pub, Tulbagh).

WHAT TO BRING
I provide the venue and the fire and visitors are requested to be as self sufficient as possible.
Bring your own chair, food, utensils, drinks, instruments and it's a good idea to bring additional water since we sometimes experience a water shortage on the farm.

COME EARLIER?
If you are keen to help make the venue look more festive you are welcome to come a few hours earlier and decorate the space and dance floor with things like artwork, banners, lights etc. Use your imagination. It's a group effort.

The 'official' time for the start is 12 p.m. so people have time to swim in the dam and chill. The BIG FIRE will be lit at sunset.
DISCO VASEK will be going until late, so pack your dance shoes!
